D/G deck INSTALLATION

All three main Generator Diesel Engine Crankshafts reported as scored and damaged.

Due to the extremely long Lead Time in procuring and supplying the required spares for the damaged Generator Engines, the client decided to install two packaged / containerised D/Gs of 2MW each to get their loaded ship to sail to disport.

Foundation area for DGs, Securing eyes and cable penetration areas checked.

Naval Architectural drawings created and submitted to client and class for approval.

Approved foundation stools and securing eyes fabricated and welded on board.

Client's rented containerised / packaged D/Gs delivered. Fitted on board and secured.

Cables fitted from deck to MSB in Engine Room via bulkhead penetrations.

Cable trays installed and cables secured with heat and waterproof cladding.

Tested engines. Checked direction of power transmission.

Checked heat generation along cables and at connections.

Tested the DG alarms and trips.

Classification Society and Flag surveyors attended to test and certify the work done

Single Voyage Certificate issued.

Shore personnel Disembarked.

Vessel sailed out on own power towards disport, arrived and discharged cargo safely.
